A New Lawn, Overnight
Skip the wait for seed to fill in. We prep the soil, lay fresh sod, and leave you with a thick green lawn that looks established from day one.
Sod is the right answer when a lawn is too far gone to rescue. Heavy shade, chinch bug damage, years of compaction, or a stubborn bare patch that reseeding never fixes: at some point starting fresh costs less than another season of patching.
The preparation is what separates sod that takes from sod that fails. Old turf has to come out, the grade has to be right so water runs away from the house, and the soil has to be loose enough for roots to move down into. We do that work before a single piece is laid.
The first two weeks decide everything. Sod that is watered properly knits into the soil and never looks back, while sod that dries out even once can be set back for the rest of the season. We leave you with a simple schedule to follow, and we would rather you call with a question than guess at it.

Most sod failures trace back to preparation, so that is where we spend the time.

Sod Installation FAQs
How soon can I walk on new sod?
Keep traffic off it for the first two weeks or so while the roots knit into the soil. Light foot traffic is usually fine after that. Give it a full growing season before heavy use.
How much do I need to water new sod?
A lot at first. New sod needs consistent water every day for the first couple of weeks, then progressively less as roots establish. We give you a clear schedule to follow before we leave.
What type of grass is best for this area?
It depends on how much sun the area gets and how the lawn is used. We will look at your yard and recommend a variety that suits the light, the traffic, and the Florida climate.
Can you sod just a patch, or does it have to be the whole lawn?
Either. Patching a damaged area works well when the surrounding lawn is the same variety and in good shape. If the whole lawn is struggling, replacing it all gives a far more even result.
Why did my last sod fail?
Usually preparation or watering. Sod laid over compacted soil or an uneven grade cannot root properly, and the first two weeks of watering are unforgiving. We address both as part of the job.
What areas do you serve for sod installation?
We install sod throughout Valrico, Brandon, Bloomingdale, FishHawk, and Riverview, FL.
